Industries
From our quarries, we produce limes and limestone that are used to manufacture certain industrial products.
CHEMICAL INDUSTRY
The limestone range
Our calcium carbonates are functional mineral fillers used in processes such as: the production of fertilisers, silicon, rubber, adhesive, paint, technical polymers. We can provide them in the form of micronised products or limestone.
The lime range
We manufacture limes from industrial limestone from our quarries, in the form of calcium oxide and calcium di-hydroxide in order to treat effluents and gaseous discharges from sites.
METALLURGY AND THE MINING INDUSTRY
The limestone range
We can also supply ground calcium carbonates and limestone in order to improve the agglomeration of ore by pelleting. Our limes and limestones are also used in the environmental management of your processes for the desulphurisation of fumes or the neutralisation of acidic water.
The lime range
Our limes are used as a binder or flux in primary smelting furnace and as a flotation agent for the treatment of ores that contain copper, zinc, nickel, lead, gold, silver, aluminium. These are the basic properties of lime which are sought and its ability to trap pollutants.
PAPER INDUSTRY
The limestone range
Our calcium carbonates (POROCAL®) are used as an inorganic pigment or filler agents in paper production processes.
The lime range
Lime is used in manufacturing paper pulp and it is used to regenerate the soda. It is also used in the environmental management of your processes for neutralising wastewater.
GLASS INDUSTRY
The limestone range
Our calcium and magnesium carbonates (PORODOL® and POROCAL®) are essential raw materials in the manufacturing of glass. They act as a flux and stabiliser, and improve the resistance of the glass. These industrial limestones are available in different particle sizes ranging from 100 µm to 4 mm.
The lime range
Our limes and limestones are also used in the environmental management of your processes for the desulphurisation of fumes or the neutralisation of acidic water.
THE FOOD PROCESSING INDUSTRY
Slaked lime is essential in the production of sugar from sugar cane and sugar beet.
Quick and slaked limes, and Sulfocho® are also used to treat distilling slops.
